Drama serial Mein in a nutshell
Mein is a gripping tale of love and class divide, where a middle-class girl, Ayra (Azekah Daniel), falls in love with a wealthy man, Zaid (Wahaj Ali), the scion of a powerful and wealthy family. But the families don’t see eye-to-eye, and Ayra has to pay the ultimate price for choosing love.
Thrown into the mix is Mubashira Jafar (Ayeza Khan), making Mein, a very potent cocktail, indeed. Mubashira, or MJ as her fans call her, is married to Mohib (Agha Mustafa Hassan).

Episode 1
Where it all began.
In the first episode, Mubashira is preparing for her second wedding anniversary and demands perfection. Mohib gifts her a diamond necklace the night before the anniversary, which she dislikes. So, he promises her another surprise. But, will she like this surprise?

Episode 3
In the third episode, on the wedding anniversary, Mohib’s surprise for Mubashira is revealed: divorce papers!
This hurts Mubashira’s ego, who is headstrong, arrogant, and stubborn, which makes her father, Jafar (Usman Peerzada) very concerned.
In a rage, she goes to Mohib’s place, only to find her best friend there, whom Mohib has married. With these twists and turns, and an avalanche of emotions, it is easy to see how Mein gained a massive audience.

Episode 7
Zaid and Ayra are still going strong. However, the story takes an unexpected turn when Mubashira decides to marry again. She is young, rich, and classy, and doesn’t want to be pitied. Meanwhile, Ayra’s brother (Aijaz Aslam) wants Ayra to get married as soon as possible. At the same time, Jaffer and Zaid’s father, Asif (Shahzad Nawaz), are planning to Zaid and Mubashira’s marriage.
Why? Well, because Watta-satta. Zaid’s sister, Kashmala (Sabeena Syed) is set to be married to Mubashira’s brother, Rayyan (Nameer Khan). So, why not marry Mubashira and Zaid too?

Episode 10
Zaid’s marriage is the hot topic of discussion as he reveals to his father that he loves Ayra and wants to marry her. However, Asif, denies his wish and issues a threatening ultimatum. He warns that if Ayra and her family don’t back off, he will make their lives a living hell. Upon hearing about Asif’s threat, Ayra rushes to find Zaid, only to discover that he is in the middle of his wedding ceremony. Heartbroken, she turns away, but not alone.
Zaid leaves his own wedding to go after Ayra. After sharing her concerns with Zaid, Ayra parts ways with him. Meanwhile, Mubashira waits alone on stage to complete the ceremonial departure, but sadly, she ends up leaving with her father-in-law instead.

Episode 13
Mubashira holds the false belief that Zaid will understand and value her, but she is proven wrong. Zaid confesses to his father that he can’t genuinely commit to his relationship with Mubashira.

Episode 17
Zaid treats Mubashira poorly and warns her about her attitude. Zaid firmly states that he can’t live with her if she continues to be rude to him. “I am not Mohib,” he says. Mubashira’s father also scolds her, pointing out her flaws, and urges her to change to avoid losing Zaid as well. A defiant MJ tells her father she doesn’t need to change because she is perfect. However, deep down, she fears the possibility of divorce once again and decides to transform herself. We see Mubashira transform from ‘Crazy Chucky’ to ‘Calm Barbie’. She also resolves to let Zaid marry Ayra.

Episode 20
This episode finds Mubashira still playing mind games and presenting a favorable image to Zaid. She wants to remove Ayra from Zaid’s life permanently. As Zaid’s wives, Ayra and Mubashira live together but hate each other. Zaid reassures Ayra that her marriage to Mubashira is contractual, and his sole affection is for her.

Episode 25
Ayra’s sister-in-law advises her that she could never settle in a house she doesn’t own. Ayra asks Asif the reason for his dislike for her. He replies arrogantly: “I don’t consider you worthy of being disliked.” Zaid and Mubashira go on a business trip to Turkey, where Mubashira talks about Ayra, but Zaid shuts down the discussion. Zaid knows that Mubashira is trying to break his relationship with Ayra. Mubashira asks Zaid: “Why don’t you accept that you like being with me?”

Episode 27
In Turkey, love seems to have a firm grip on Zaid and Mubashira. Mubashira confesses her feelings to Zaid, to which he replies: “I have already loved my share.” Zaid also seems to have developed feelings for Mubashira, but Ayra is still in his heart. Ayra hatches a plot and convinces an acquaintance to pose as Asif’s wife to malign Asif’s character. He unfolds the truth and foils Ayra’s plans. Asif locks up Ayra in her room.

Episode 29
Poor Ayra is locked in a room and harassed by Rayyan in Zaid’s absence. Ayra defends herself and exposes him, but Asif doesn’t listen to her. So she decides to leave the place. Rayyan manipulates Kashmala and Asif. Hearing about the matter, Zaid returns to Pakistan urgently. The story gets interesting as Zaid investigates the whole story and finds out that his father and brother-in-law did something terrible to his wife.
