Recapping ARY digital drama Jaan e Jahan episode 10
When we last reviewed Jaan e Jahan, four episodes ago, the rushed romance between Mahnoor (Ayeza Khan) and Shehram (Hamza Ali Abbasi) was a concern, but it turned out to be false alarm. Since then their feelings toward each other have taken on the characteristics of a slow burn. This is good news. It gives us, the views, a chance to get to know the characters and how they relate to one another. Let’s dig in.
Jaan e Jahan episode 10 opens with a surprise birthday party that Mahnoor has organized for him. The kid from the ‘school’ can be seen in the background and Hashim, Shehram’s valet, also makes an appearance, which isn’t coincidental; Hashim is being positioned as the only person in Shehram’s circle of trust in the Murad Shah household. More on this later.
Zeenat (Mariam Nafees) also shows up to the party but is not happy to see the increasing closeness between Sheram and Mahnoor.
Blame it on the rain
After the celebrations, while Mahnoor and Shehram are cleaning up, it starts raining suddenly, prompting them to seek shelter indoors. This gives them a chance to talk about their past and interests.
Meanwhile, at the factory, the rain also delays Zeb’s departure. This gives Tabrez (Haris Waheed) a chance to detain her. Her husband, Amir is still in Karachi, sent their by Tabrez. After the rain stops, Shehram has Hashim drop Mahnoor off at her home. This raises the eyebrows of Mahnoor’s neighbors.
Later, Zeenat tells Kishwar (Savera Nadeem) about Mahnoor’s birthday surprise for Shehram. This alarms Kishwar, and she asks Zeenat to invite Mahnoor inside the next time she visits the haveli.
Tabrez is surprised by a visit from Shehram at the factory the next day. When Shehram tries to advise Tabrez about managing people at the factory, he doesn’t take it well. The factory workers are happy to see Shehram.
A new character, Taimoor Ahmed (Emmad Irfani), is introduced towards, the end of the episode.
Our verdict: Jaan e Jahan is starting to live up to its billing.
