Drama serial Sukoon episode 22

Recapping episode 22 of drama serial Sukoon

Episode 22 of ARY Digital’s drama, Sukoon, continues to focus on the theme of education. Aima’s (Qudsia Ali) mother scolds her about not obeying her husband. She also asks her to stop pursuing her degree. Aima returns to her husband’s home sooner than she hoped to.

Usman (Adnan Samad Khan) and Aima get into an argument, and belittle each other. Usman flies into a rage and forcibly burns Aima’s books while his mother and Aima protest. However, their tearful appeals fall on deaf ears.

In contrast, Ayna (Sana Javed), left to her own devices, has full freedom to study in a peaceful environment. In fact, Hamdan encourages her to dedicate time for her studies.

Hamdan (Ahsan Khan) gets a visit from Gurya’s (Sidra Niazi) mother, played by Atiqa Odho, who tries to get a definite answer from him regarding marrying Gurya. However, Hamdan stalls and tries to assure her that he has Gurya’s best interests at heart.

Meanwhile, Gurya does not take Hamdan’s response well. She tries to call him on the phone but he does not answer, nor does he return her calls.

Afterward, when Gurya does not come down for dinner, her parents find her bedroom door locked. They unlock the door with a spare key. They are shocked at what they see.

Between a rock and a hard place

As the suspense builds, Hamdan gets a late-night phone call from Gurya’s father, played by Usman Peerzada. He leaves for the hospital in a panic, leaving a worried Ayna behind.

At the hospital, Gurya’s mother chides Hamdan and blames him for Gurya’s condition, which we can only guess might be the result of self-harm.

Later, at the hospital, Ayna calls him more than once, but Hamdan does not, or rather, cannot answer his phone in front of Gurya’s parents. Meanwhile, Ayna’s phone calls add to Gurya’s parents’ concerns.

Sukoon is turning out to be a slow burn, but is anchored by a strong cast and solid performances.
